Methods has been supporting OPERA in 2018 to develop programmes and activities that enable disadvantaged young people to gain meaningful employment.

OPERA is a youth employment charity built to tackle global youth unemployment.

Throughout this year, the OPERA team alongside our supporters have run through mud and coloured paint, climbed mountains, done IRONMAN triathlons, taken on bustucker trials, chilli challenges and donated time, skills and money all for one purpose; to empower young people to #thrive

Did You Know?

  • 1 in 10 young people believe they will amount to nothing
  • 2,000,000 young people aged between 16 & 24 have not worked for 6 months in 2017
  • Young people from low income backgrounds are 30% more likely to drop out of school at 16

We’re Doing Our Bit …

Methods are proud to be hosting an OPERA World Of Work day, today,  Friday 12 October at our St Martin’s Le Grand office.

World of Work Days are a chance for young people to experience a real working environment in the offices.

In many cases these young people are some of the furthest away from being work ready in many respects, However, this means that we can really inspire them to either get back into education or further training with days such as this.

A young person who has 4 or more encounters with an employer is 86% less likely to be unemployed or not in education or training
